About WhaTools

WhaTools is a free toolkit of WhatsApp utilities and plain-language guides, built and shared by a small collective of activists, organizers and developers. We use WhatsApp to organize, and over the years we became experts at it. This is where we give back what we've learned: the tools we built for our own campaigns, our research, and hands-on guides, free for anyone doing similar work.

What you'll find here

The heart of the site is a set of free, browser-based tools: the WhatsApp Link Generator for creating click-to-chat wa.me links with formatted, pre-filled messages, the WhatsApp QR Generator for turning those links into printable QR codes, and the WhatsApp Share Widget for building embeddable share buttons with rich previews. The tools run entirely in your browser: what you type is never uploaded, stored or logged, there are no accounts, and nothing expires.

Around the tools we publish the blog and the WhatsApp automation guide: hands-on articles about click-to-chat links, chatbots, broadcast strategies, the WhatsApp Business API and its eligibility rules, and step-by-step automation tutorials. We pay particular attention to readers the official API excludes (such as political and advocacy organizations) and to compliant alternatives that work for them.

How the site is funded

Everything on WhaTools is free to use, with no sign-up. The site is supported by advertising and by affiliate links: when we link to a third-party automation service (such as ManyChat, Chatfuel, Wati, Landbot, n8n, Zapier or Make) we may earn a commission if you sign up, at no extra cost to you. Pages containing affiliate links carry a visible disclosure, affiliate links are marked rel="sponsored", and commissions never change our recommendations. The comparison content covers strengths, weaknesses and pricing of each option, including free and self-hosted routes that earn us nothing.

Our history

This project began as wha.chat, a WhatsApp link tool and blog we ran before this site. In 2026 we consolidated that work into a single toolkit at wha.solutions: the tools were rebuilt and the articles were revised and moved to the blog here. Later that year we moved to our current home, wha.tools, and adopted the WhaTools name. The old wha.chat and wha.solutions domains now redirect here. If you followed an older link and landed here, you're in the right place. This is the same project under its current name.

Who we are

WhaTools is built and maintained by Pro Commons Developers SL (procom.dev), a group of activists, hackers and developers based in Spain. We build web tools and automation for grassroots organizations, campaigns and social causes, and this site collects the WhatsApp utilities and know-how we kept rebuilding for our own work. We publish it as a commons: free to use, and better every time the community adds to it.

WhaTools is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected to WhatsApp or Meta Platforms, Inc. WhatsApp is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc., used here for identification only.

Contribute with us

WhaTools is community-driven, and it gets better when people who use WhatsApp for organizing pool what they know. If you have a tool, a tactic, research, a translation fix, or a guide that helped your campaign, we'd love to share it here, with credit. Got an idea for a tool we should build next? Tell us. Reach out through the contact page and let us know what you'd like to contribute.

Get in touch

Questions, corrections, or feedback about a tool or an article are always welcome. See the contact page for how to reach us. For how we handle data, see the privacy policy and cookie policy.
