Like n8n, Zapier doesn’t message WhatsApp on its own: it ties WhatsApp to the rest of your tools. Its WhatsApp connections run through Meta’s official WhatsApp Business Cloud API, so it suits organisations that qualify for that platform. Everything runs in Zapier’s cloud, so there’s nothing to host or maintain.

- Add a filter, a delay or an AI step if the automation needs to make decisions.

Good to know
Zapier is cloud-only (you can’t self-host it) and pricing is based on how many tasks your automations run, which can add up at volume. It doesn’t send WhatsApp by itself; the WhatsApp connection uses Meta’s official Business Cloud API, so the same eligibility rules apply. Don’t wire it up to blast messages from a personal number.
